Collage Mirror

For my senior art project, I created a framed mirror piece, compiled of memories of high school and Mount Alvernia. The mirror represents the relationships I made with friends and peers through the past six years. It signifies my unique relationships with those individuals, and the memories we have shared together. Going away to college next year, the mirror will remind me of the valuable times I spent with my friends in high school. The interests we have shared connect to one of my favorite paintings, The Dancing Butler, by Jack Vetriano. The piece portrays a couple dancing on a rainy beach late at night. That free spirit, action and passion, signify the times I’ve spent with my friends. We carry a deep appreciation for one another and live in the moment. Most of my dearest memories reflect situations much like The Dancing Butler.
